So Sad!!

One of the worst things happened recently - one of my former students died!!!! I knew that eventually this would happen one day because I've had about 2,000 students now, but it is still really bothering me. I was on vacation of the 4th of July in Heber and we went to church. During fast and testimony meeting a lady was bearing her testimony and mentioned a girl who had died at the Heber Valley girls camp. I turned to Clark and said "I had a student with that name" but we figured it was a common name. Later that day I heard the family talking about it downstairs and it turned out it was one of my students!! I read her obituary online. She was only 17 years old and she was in that group of students that I had in 7th grade my very first year teaching. I still remember where she sat in my class and her posters hanging in the hall when running for officer. So heartbreaking to me.
