New York! New York!
So we're up in Rochester looking for places to live. Mark and I have VERY different tastes/styles in housing. We had this problem 7 years ago in GA. Mark's found this HUGE farm house and barn (bright red) on an acre of land. I'm scouting out the small townhouse (less to clean!) next to the Elementary school. Wish me luck.

Compromise with Mark and make him help you deep clean every Saturday if he wants the house that bad. (An acre of land would be awesome though!) But I totally agree on less to clean! Good luck!
