Richard Simmons?

I'm looking into getting my aerobic teaching certification. I can't go back to school now because (1) can't afford babysitters, and (2) Mark's never home, but I want to do something and I would REALLY love to have some extra money. :) So I'm looking into getting certified. I'd love to work at the local YMCA where I have my membership because they have great daycare and I think they'd pay your membership too. Wouldn't that be a great job? Teaching a couple hours of work and you can take your kids to work, AND get a workout at the same time?

Anyone have any suggestions or ideas on this--I thought one of our group had done something like this?

I totally want to do this same thing!! I have a cousin that is an instructor and she told me to check out the website www.afaa.com (aerobics and fitness association of america). I know you have to take a general class and have to be CPR certified and then you take specific classes for what you want to teach. I haven't done it before the classes can be a little pricey! You can sign up your email and they'll email you when they are offering classes in your area.

My strength instructor actually told me about fitour.com She says its less expensive. I noticed there's several ones in American Fork. Only the basic one in GA for now. :)

Cool - cheaper is always better :) My cousin said the best thing to do is just go to the classes (especially the ones you'd be interested in teaching) so that you feel really comfortable with it and then you can certify to teach it. I would say make friends with one of the instructors and they can totally help you get certified. I don't think it would take too long. You would be awesome at it!
